 Meet Francisca and her family. A single mother with 3 boys; Marco, Yordi & Miguel, living in a really poor conditions on just about $60 a week. This week we went out to build a new home for this awesome family with our friends from Companies With A Mission. It was a great 2 days working together. Asher & Noah came on the build, and had a great time connecting with the family as they were around the same age. It was on the 2nd day that francisca had been out shopping with some of the women from the the team, and as she came back she literally fainted and had to get carried back to her house. We were all slightly concerned, but She soon came round and carried on the day as usual.  The dedication ceremony was very moving as we handed the keys to the family. Their 8 year old son, Miguel was crying, so Noah was crying, so i was crying. And then Francisca announced why she fainted. It was because she saw the Stove that we were putting in the house. She was so overwhelmed as she had been praying for a stove for many years, so she could cook for her family. Something so simple and basic for me and you, would make someone else pass out. It made me think, what would be a gift big enough to make me faint. It also humbled me as i realised what a great privaledge it is to be part of changing peoples lives and giving them gifts great enough to make them pass out...  |
