During this last week, ive had the privaledge of going out and helping to build our last few homes of 2010. One of them was the Lopez Cortez family. Living in a very poor house in Ensenada with their 2 children. Earning just 700pesos a week (about 30dollars) It was hard for them to make improvements, and think about the future. The gift of a new home will give them Hope, a safe roof over their heads, and a place to really call home. The other Family that we built for was the Trinidad Villarreal Family in a town just south of Ensenada. Living with their 4 children in one small room, they have no running water, or electricity. Earning just a few pesos a week working in the fields, the opportunity of a new home, has life changing possibilities for this family CLICK HERE FOR MORE PHOTOS THANK YOU for being part of our lives, and for enabling families like these to receive new homes...
Over the past few years we have thought many times about buying our own home in Ensenada. As some of you know, our current apartment on the YWAM base is very small and after 5 years with 6 kids all squashed into our tiny home, we think it is time to move out. We have looked at a few houses to rent or buy over the past years, but they’ve either been too small, overpriced, too far from the YWAM base, or we just don’t like it. We had almost stopped looking, when suddenly the PERFECT HOUSE is available. There are many unknowns as we look into financing and all the other details. Honestly, we need to see a miracle happen. Please pray with us as we begin this new venture. We know that Having our own home here would really increase our effectiveness and longevity here in Mexico. Making us better at what we do... You may remember us mentioning the abundance of children being adopted by the staff in our ministry. It is such a privaledge to see. Young children with hopeless situations, having their destiny's turned round and coming home to loving parents. Tammy & Eddie (below) now have 12 yr old Esthella with them full time, as they start the long and complicated legal process... This week our good friends (and next door neighbours) got a call from the social services to go for a visit. They came back with the news that they have 2 children for them. David, age 2 and Mya, age 4. The weekend was spent frantically getting the house ready. Furniture, beds, clothes, toys etc... They have started their visits with them and hopefully next week they will be coming home to stay. Their lives transformed forever... Aswell as the staff in Ensenada, one of our families in San Diego are in the final stages of adoption, from an orphanage in Juarez. This October celebrated 3 years of having Micah & Tianna, our adopted children with us. |
