 After a few days acclimating in Romania, Sam, Asher and the YWAM team took 22 hour bus ride from Romania into Ukraine. The team have now been working for the past 4 days. The goal has been to build 100 emergency shelters in ten days for families who have lost their homes as a result of the war. With winter coming, 10's of 1000's of people are at risk of dying of exposure. As they are building they are hearing harrowing stories of peoples experiences of the last few months, and how they went from living a normal life to loosing everything, many including family members. With the construction of the Emergency shelters we are hoping that it will give the families a landing place that is warm and dry as they begin to rebuild their lives.The team are working hard and each shelter only takes a few hours to put together, so they getting a few built each day. They currently have funding for about 80 shelters.  Thank you for your generous gifts. February 24th was a day that changed everything for millions of Ukrainians. Can you imagine that one day your whole world is turned upside down? If you stay, you risk losing your life, along with your home, and your community. If you flee you are sure to lose your home, your culture, your country. You must do it as fast as you can; therefore, the only things you can take with you are things you can carry, most importantly being your documents and medicines. We've all been watching the devastating atrocities going on in the Ukraine over the last months, and it breaks our hearts, as with every bomb that explodes, thats another family that has lost a loved one one or their possessions or their home. As a ministry we've been looking as to what is our response, and we've decided we can do what we do best, which is build homes for needy families.  YWAM San Diego / Baja has partnered YWAM Kyiv and YWAM Cluj and is committing to build 100 homes for needy families over the next weeks. As the harsh winter comes in to Ukraine, this will be 100 families that will have a roof over their heads and will not be sleeping on the streets this winter.
