Its kind of hard to put into words our time at the camp. Back Home i look at the last couple of weeks and our time at camp revolution, many emotions come to mind. Amazing, Frustrating, Fun, Bonding, Devastating, but more than anything HOPEFUL. Over our week at the camp, we learnt why our kids havent attached to us and why they act like they do, whats going on in their brains, why we have to parent them differently and how to do this. It was so much to take in, at the end of the week we were exhausted, but excited. The week was set up in a community camp setting (Very Much like YWAM) Mornings were teaching and training sessions, then the afternoons and evenings were games and activities, specially designed to bond and build trust among the family, it was really well put together, and Nancy Thomas, the leader was AMAZING. Check out her Website: www.attachment.org More than anything the camp has helped us realise what we are dealing with, not just in Micah, but Tianna also. It has given us tools and resources to help make changes. It has given us a network of people in the same position we can communicate with. It has helped us make decisions about how we are to do life over the next couple of years. More than anything, it has given us a new HOPE for our family. Thanks again for everyones support in helping us to get there, and for your prayers while we were there. It really was a life changing experience. |
