A Life transformed forever...

At the age of 11, Estella had never been school. Living with her uneducated family in San Quintin about 4 hours south of Ensenada, Estella and her family lived in poverty and did whatever work they could do to survive. On top of this Estella was born with a life threatening Kidney disease.

We were first introduced to Estella and her Mum, Isobel in March of this year. They were in the general hospital in Ensenada, where they had been for nearly a year. Where Estella was in desperate need of a transplant. Her mum was willing to be the donor, the operation had been funded, but the doctors would still not operate because of the families living conditions. They said the risk of infection was far too great if they went back home. Our hearts just broke for this little girl. This was an issue of justice. We decded that we couldn't let this go by, so we took an offering amoung the staff to rent an apartment, put together a cooking rota, and signed the forms to say that we would house Estella and Isobel for 12 months.
On May 27th Estella and her mum went in for thier operation. Everything was succesfull, and within a week they were in thier new apartment near the YWAM campus.
After 6 months of recovery Estella is doing really well. The doctors are very pleased with her progress, and for the first time in her life she is attending school, learning to read and write. Thats not all, not only is Estella in school, but Isobel is attending an adult education centre, learning some basic educational skills that she missed out on as a child.

The eassiet thing in the world would be to let this opportunity go by and say "Poor thing, but thats some other persons problem" but because we said YES we have been able to witness the change in destiny for this young Girl. From hoplesness and certain death to hope for the future and Life.

Thank you for being part of our lives and help change destinies of people like Estella.

Mark 4 v 37"Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me."

Tammy & her husband Eddie have been the main care givers for Estella, and have worked around the clock helping them to recover and improve thier lives.
