Crazy Saturday 11/06/2011

Sometimes you have one of those days that you are going to remember for a long time. Well this Saturday was one of those days.
Picture
We'd already had a great week on the base. Our good Friend Kenny Peavy was speaking on the Discipleship Training School. We'd seen some miracles happen, and 13 people had re committed their lives to following God. It was a great week.
To finish the week off, some of the students and staff decided they wanted to get baptized as an outward sign of what God was doing on the inside.

Picture
I had the absolute privilege of baptising 2 of our staff.
Firstly new staff member Keilley and then our long term staff member and friend Jaime.
The water was FREEZING. The waves were HUGE, but it was such an honor to be in there with our friends

After we had finished baptising all 5 people, we were hanging out on the beach for a while, enjoying the warmish November sun and playing with the Kids.
The beach was busy, with many local and American surfers come down to Ensenada to enjoy the Big waves.
I was just getting back to our house when one of our staff run up from the beach shouting "Come Back"

3 guys were down from southern California on a Surfing trip. They had been watching us and were drawn to what we were doing and wanted to be baptized also.
So along with a local Missionary Friend of ours, we baptized these 3 surfers as they re committed thier lives to God.
It was a crazy Saturday, but one i wont forget i a hurry.

Last week i took a trip back to the village of Huitzitzilingo, to visit our outreach team. As with every visit, it was a great time, and a really encouraging opportunity to catch up with my staff & students, and see what they have been up to over the past couple of Months.

This was the last part of their trip, where they have been in Mexico City, Pachucca and Huitzitzilingo. In the past 2 months they have done everything from Performances, bible schools and practical projects, through to prayer walking and picking oranges for our host family, in their orange grove.

The team head back next week for a week of debriefing and return home at the end of the week. Its been a great 5 months...

Last Thursday was the graduation day for our fall Discipleship Training School. This school consisted of 30 students from 7 different countries. Starting in Ensenada, they had 3 months in the classroom and then went on outreach for 2 months. One team was in southern Mexico, while the other was in Argentina & Chile.
Graduation day is always an exciting day for me, as we release our students to go off and fulfill their passions. Some are coming back on staff to build homes in Mexico. Some are going to work with Orphans in Liberia, while other others are going home to be missionaries in their Schools and workplaces.

Congratulations Guys - We Love you...

New Season, New School, New Office.... 09/29/2008

Last week saw the start of our new Discipleship training school. 16 Students from the USA, Germany, Cananda and our first ever students from India and Japan, arrived to take part in our 5 month training school. They'll spend 3 months studying here in Ensenada, and then they're off on outreach to Peru in South America. Pictured above is Sarvia and Amanda, some of our amazing staff who'll be leading the school. This is a new season in more ways than one. Not only are we running a school here in Ensenada, but for the first time, we also have a school running at one of our other campuses in Tijuana. Homes of Hope season has started and we have a very busy October coming up. Many families will be reciving new homes in the coming months. Tym, until December, is working as Acting Campus Director and is starting to settle into his new role and all the challenges it brings.
