Tommorow (Friday) i am heading off to Cairo to take part in YWAM's Bi-annual University of the Nations workshop. We'll be joind by YWAM's cofounder Darlene Cunningham, David Hamilton and other senior YWAM leaders. We are expecting 1000's of YWAM'ers from around the world to be attending the simultaneous conferences in Cairo, Lausanne, Kiev & Cape Town, all linked together by YWAM's Video Conference network, GENESIS. In Cairo I'll be assisting with the Audio Visual, and other techy stuff for the conference. I'll be putting up regualar Web/Facebook updates and pictures of the trip, so check back often.

End of the Summer 09/02/2009

Back in the UK, the end of the summer usually means that the Autum is upon us, those cold damp evenings, getting dark by five oclock. Here in Baja it just seams to keep getting hotter!!

As always, September each year is the begining of all things new. Tianna, Mich & Noah are all back at school together. Asher is now finished Kinder and is in Primaria 1. Levi (who graduated last year) has gone up to secondaria at the same school as Jacob, and Jacob is in Prepatoria 1. Also Sam is now a student again, studying Span is at the local University.

We are also in for a lot of change for things on the YWAM campus. As always, September is our biggest quarter for the Discipleship Training School. In 2 weeks time, we will be welcoming 20+ students from the UK, USA, Canada, Switzerland & Mexico to join us on a 5 month adventure with God. At the same time we will be running a 3 month bible school, with about 10 students attending.

This has been a tough season for the ministry. From the falling economy in the USA, then the percieved threat of violence in Mexico, and then the scare with the swine flu, we have seen our team numbers fall drastically. Looking out of my window last week, i counted 78 people lining up at our family selection meeting, with the hope to get a new home from YWAM. "The need is immense, but the workers are few" This has been a difficult season as we get used to our changing climate.

As i write, i am getting ready for a trip to Cairo, Egypt to a large conference. But more a bout that later.
